Scouting is non-political, non sectarian, non-communal and not connected with any one religion. Its aims are formation of character, formation of sound health habits, training in handicrafts and useful skills, cultivation of spirit of service and inculcation of reverence of God. It fosters discipline and develops leadership qualities. Our School formed a club under the name “Modern Senior Secondary School Ham Club” in 1989 to foster this socially useful hobby among our students. After the school’s tireless efforts, our Ham Club got license, No. 22699 and call sign VU2 HRD, Category-Grade I on 6.9.1994. Scouts training for boys were started in the year 1987-88. The charter for this wasScouts training for boys was started in the year 1987-88. The charter for this was given by The Bharat Scouts and Guides, Tamil Nadu on 16.2.1988(N0.9/99). There are at present many boys with “Rajya Puraskar” Rank badge and some won “Rashtrapati Scout” Rank badge(1.10.2003). An Annual Camp is conducted for the Scouts of our school where they learn about team-work, various drills and other scout related activities.
