Commemorating the birth anniversary of Sankaracharya of Sringeri Saradha Peetam, Bharathi Theertha Swamigal, Sri Bharathi Thirtha Trust, organises a state-level essay competition for all school students on different themes.Nearly 400 students participate in this competition every year from our school. This year students penned their thoughts on subjects such as‘Good Company Leads to a Happy Life’ for Juniors and 'Management of Ego' for Seniors. For many years, we got Rolling Cup for both Senior and Junior Level. This year we received Winners Rolling Cup for Senior Level and Runners Rolling Cup for Junior Level.
26.10.2014 – Sri Vidyatheertha Foundation, Chennai organized an Inter School Quiz Competition titled “Punitha Bharatham” to inculcate moral, ethical and traditional values in students. The preliminary round of this quiz was a written round and more than 150 schools of Chennai Region participated in this event. Among this, only 4 teams qualified for the Grand Finale and one team from our School participated in it. The Finals took place on 26th October and our School team bagged the prestigious First Place, a memorable event in the history of Modern School. Our team was represented by K. Sushrut Vinayak of IX Std, R. Abhinava Prasad of IX Std and R. Chandrasekar of X Std. They won a cash prize of Rs.75,000 and a set of valuable books from esteemed guests, Dr. V.R. Gowrishankar, CEO of Sringeri Mutt and Umayalpuram Dr. K. Sivaraman, a renowned Mridangam Artist. All the finalists are entitled for a sponsored trip to Sringeri. This programme will be telecast every Saturday at 9 P.M in Podhigai Channel from 19th October onwards.
